GerontoNet Symposium on Clinical Trials in the frail elderly person.

Gerontonet is a network of excellence to promote clinical research and clinical trials on Age Related Diseases. The elderly persons have been absent from most of the therapeutic trials, however, not only do they take most of the drugs recently developed, but they have specific needs. New diseases are emerging like frailty, mobility disorders, sarcopenia, cognitive decline, osteoporosis, dementia, vascular diseases, urinary incontinence, macular degeneration...

The 2009 Gerontonet symposium plans to focuse on new clinical trials in this field: methodological aspects, end points, results, target population, health economic aspects.

Investigators in these domains from public or private sectors are welcome to submit a one page abstract of their clinical research before October 1st, 2009 to http://www.serdi-fr.com/ROME.html
