  ABOUT FALLS AND INJURIES
Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries in people 65 and older in the United States. Falls can happen anytime and anyplace to people of any age, but most falls in the elderly population occur in the home during everyday activities. The Falls and Injuries Center offers information about the prevention of falls, but it also goes beyond preventing injuries and presents questions and answers about how to treat injuries due to falling and other accidents.
