Recommended Questions to Ask About a Clinical Trial

Here are some questions you should ask before you (or a dependant) embark on a clinical trial:

What is the purpose of the study?
What does the study involve in terms of tests and treatments?
What is the trial procedure like? - how long does it take, who will be administering it?
Will the new treatment bring about any new outcome with regard to my existing condition?
How does the experimental drug compare to known treatments, so far?
How could participating in this trial affect my daily life?
Are there any risks about which I should be informed?
What is the time commitment necessary for all the testing procedures?
Will my anonymity be preserved?
