IANA Congresses and Workshops


The IANA and the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging are pleased to announce a jointly sponsored symposium entitled: “Nutritional Modulators of Physical Function and Aging”. The meeting will be held in Boston on November 1 and 2, 2007.
The overall goal for the meeting will be to introduce the topic of nutritional influences on physical functioning in older people and to bring together nutritional scientists, geriatricians, gerontologists, students, and other health professionals to discuss the state of the art of this important topic. There will be scheduled plenary sessions, a keynote address, and poster presentations. Topics will include: protein and amino acid nutrition and performance; role of vitamin D on muscle health; and mineral nutrition and physical functioning. The 1st conference Clinical Trials on Alzheimer’s Disease (CTAD) will take place in Montpellier on 17th -19th September, 2008. This conference is jointly organized by the Montpellier and Toulouse European Alzheimer’s Disease Consortium (EADC) Centers. The aims of the meeting are to bring together the current leaders in clinical trials in Alzheimer’s Disease to discuss new results, drugs in development, and future methodological issues (disease modifi cation, outcomes, biomarkers, health economics). A Clinical Trials Training Workshop will be organized. This will be a high-level training course designed for investigators and clinical research assistants involved in clinical trials. The 3rd IANA Symposium on Nutriiton and Alzheimer will focuse on Nutrition, Frailty, Exercise and Cognitive Decline and Alzheimer will take place in Albuquerque, New-Mexico, USA at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Ressort on 1th -2th August, 2008. The aims of the meeting are to bring together the current leaders in nutrition, physcial exercise, sarcopenia, frailty and Alzheimer’s Disease to discuss new results, interventions in development, and future methodological issues (primary and secondary preventive trials, weight loss prevention, sarcopenia new trials).
