In the first part of her EAMA presentation Dr. Barry summarized the education of medical doctors in the US. A MD degree can be achieved after 4 years of postgraduate training. Undergraduate training normally ends with a BA (bachelor of arts) or BS (bachelor of science) degree. After finishing medical school US doctors have to have at least three years of training depending on their specialty (e.g. internal medicine).
