How do we age?

How do we age? Scientists have long sought to describe the complexities of the aging process. While researchers have not settled on one overarching explanation, they have articulated several theories of aging. Today, science's growing understanding of the genetic, molecular and other processes of the human body suggests that the explanation for human aging is a combination of some of the individual theories described here.
